The Range Project - Accessible Shooting for All

The Club’s present range and clubhouse were constructed in 1946 and are now very much in need of replacement. We have prepared plans for a new clubhouse to include an indoor 25-yard range together with facilities currently lacking such as a purpose built armoury, kitchen and accessible toilet. We will also re-open the disused outdoors 50m range including provision of a firing point building. Following receipt of Planning Permission and grant funding we are proceeding with Phase 1 but have been considerably delayed due to Covid-19 lockdowns. We are continuing to work on planning and funding for Phase 2. Phase 1 progress photos can be viewed here.

This first phase includes the reinstatement of the old 50m range and construction of a new firing point building and butts together with various external works such as improvements to the access lane, provision of an interim car park and connection to the mains water supply. There will also be some initial planting and landscaping and provision of a number of nesting boxes within the existing woodland area that is not part of the new works.

Phase 2 will comprise the new clubhouse and 25-yard indoor range together with completion of the car park, landscaping and further minor improvements to the access lane and its dry stone retaining walls. The drawings show the proposed site layout and future clubhouse.
